This new must have part is called an Oil Pressure Gauge. Although it sounds pretty simple, in reality it could save your engine and your pocket book a lot of money down the road…
Here’s how…
Most vintage British motorcycles including Triumph, BSA and Norton did not start putting oil pressure switches on there models around 1969. Some 1968 Triumph (twins & triples) and also many Triumph pre-unit models had provisions for an oil pressure switch or gauge on the timing cover but never came fitted with them.
An oil pressure switch will only tell you so much when your engine is running. If your oil pressure drops below a certain threshold your warning light will start to “flash” but a flashing light will only tell you so much…
By installing one of our new gauge kits you can monitor exactly what your oil pressure is every second while riding your motorcycle. Say goodbye to “guessing” what your oil pressure “might be / could be”.
What’s included in the Triumph / BSA oil pressure gauge kit?
- Various threaded adapters suited specifically for most Triumph and BSA motorcycle applications including triples
- Oil pressure gauge with a 1 3/4″ liquid (oil) encapsulated face (psi rating 0-100)
- 7/8″ polished stainless steel handlebar clamp
- Oil line (50″)
What’s included in the “center mount” Norton Commando oil pressure gauge kit?
- Threaded adapters suited specifically for Norton Commando motorcycles
- Oil pressure gauge with a 1 3/4″ liquid encapsulated face (psi rating 0-100)
- Hole spacing measures 3″ from center to center
- Stainless steel bracket (attaches to handlebar clamps)
- Oil line (50″)
– Norton center mount kit is not compatible with the 1975 Norton 850 MKIII (please use the Norton 7/8″ handlebar clamp kit)
What’s included in the 7/8″ handlebar “clamp-on” Norton Commando oil pressure gauge kit?
- Threaded adapters suited specifically for Norton Commando motorcycles
- Oil pressure gauge with a 1 3/4″ liquid encapsulated face (psi rating 0-100)
- Stainless steel bracket (attaches to handlebar clamps)
- 7/8″ polished stainless steel handlebar clamp

- “Tee fittings” are to work with Triumph twins in conjunction with our oil pressure gauge kits to allow you to use both the oil pressure gauge and the oil pressure sending unit – all “tee fittings” will work with the late 1/8″ X 27 NPT thread unit (60-3719 / D3719)
- We are now offering oil pressure gauge oil line and replacement faces from black or white colors
Ready to monitor your oil pressure?
Our kits are designed, used & tested by vintage British motorcycle enthusiasts! Installation is very straight forward. Just make sure that your Triumph, BSA or Norton can accept an oil pressure gauge. Again, usually late models that came with an oil pressure switch can use this gauge
